Where we come out The duty cycle is the reason to choose it, and the missing thickness figures are the reason to check your material first.
Four hundred and sixty-two euros, and one number that no other machine in this batch publishes: 85 A at 60% duty cycle.
Why duty cycle bites harder on a cutter
Welding is intermittent by nature — a bead, a pause to reposition, another bead. Cutting is not: you set off along a line and keep going. A plasma cutter that stops after ninety seconds stops in the middle of the sheet, with the arc out and the kerf cooling, and restarting mid-cut leaves a mark you will have to dress.
Sixty per cent at 85 A means six minutes of every ten at full current. On the machines around it, that figure is simply absent, and the honest reading of an absent duty cycle is « short bursts ».
Two modes, and cooling that is described
The listing names separate modes for short and continuous operation, and describes cooling of the power unit, the torch and the workpiece. That is a more considered specification than most in this category, and it is consistent with the published duty cycle: a machine designed for sustained cutting rather than for a headline current.
What is not published
Cut thickness by material. Eighty-five amps places it well above the 45 A machines earlier on this page, but stainless and aluminum figures are absent, and those are the two that surprise people. If your work is stainless, ask the maker before ordering rather than assuming the steel figure applies.
Sources
Current, duty cycle, ignition, operating modes and cooling come from the manufacturer’s published specification. No cut thickness by material is stated there, and none is invented here. Market availability was verified per market on the EAN.
What it handles, and what it will not
Strengths
A duty cycle published alongside the current — the only one in this batch
Two operating modes, so the machine is set for the job rather than for the brochure
Pilot ignition, and 85 A is a genuine step above the 45–65 A machines
Compromises
No cut thickness by material published
Not sold on the American store at the time of checking
85 A on a domestic supply will find the limit of the circuit before the machine’s

The questions welders ask
How should I read « 85 A at 60% »?
Six minutes of cutting in any ten, at 85 A, before thermal protection intervenes. Below that current you get more. The reason it matters on a plasma cutter more than on a welder is that cutting is continuous work — you follow a line for a minute at a time — where welding is often a bead and a pause. A machine that cuts out halfway down a sheet is a machine you fight.
What are the two operating modes for?
The listing describes separate modes for short-duration and continuous work. In practice that is a thermal strategy: one setting favors full current in bursts, the other trades some output for the ability to keep going. Which you want depends on whether you are nibbling brackets out of plate or running a two-meter line.

Who this one is for, among welding machines
Longer cutting sessions where thermal cut-out has been the previous machine’s habit
Consumables confirmed for this machine
Here because the consumable states this machine by name.
Specifications: the manufacturer sheet for welding and metalworking machines and the matching Amazon product page. Prices and availability: Keepa. Every figure on this page names its source.
A plasma cutter with its own compressor inside — no bottle, no hose, no water trap — and a listing that publishes neither a cut thickness nor an amperage.
Best for: Cutting thin steel anywhere there is a socket, with nothing else to carry
