The color matters on TIG

TIG is controlled by watching the pool form, spread and freeze. Through a conventional green filter that is a monochrome guess; through a True Color lens it is visible. It is the difference between learning by feel and learning by sight.

What is still not stated

Switching time, optical class and viewing area. Those three define a helmet, and this listing gives none of them. The IPOTOOLS further down this page publishes its viewing area, which is why it is here too.

The questions welders ask

What does True Color actually change?

The lens filters less of the color spectrum, so instead of a uniform green you see something close to natural color. On MIG it is a comfort improvement; on TIG it is a working one, because you judge the pool by its color and movement — and telling molten filler from the pool edge through a heavy green filter is genuinely hard.

Does it need a battery?

Most helmets in this class combine a solar cell with a small internal battery, and this one is not explicit about it. The practical habit is the same either way: leave the helmet where daylight reaches the cell, and if it starts switching late, suspect the cell before the cartridge.
