  • Itemizes all fifty pieces — 20 nozzles, 20 electrodes, 5 shield cups, 5 wire guides — and the total is right
  • Names five torch patterns it fits: AG-60, AG-60P, SG-55, WSD-60 and the BTC500DP head
  • No current rating on the nozzles — a plasma nozzle is sized by amperage, and the figure is absent

This is the first plasma consumable set on this shelf, and it does the simplest thing well: it says what is in the box. Twenty nozzles, twenty electrodes, five shield cups, five wire guides. Add them up and you get fifty, which is the number in the title — a test that one listing on this site fails and several do not attempt.

The pairing is right too. Nozzles and electrodes wear together in an air plasma torch: the electrode erodes at the center, the nozzle bore opens, and fitting a fresh nozzle behind a worn electrode ruins it within minutes because the arc no longer starts on the axis. Twenty of each means they get changed in pairs, which is what the manual says and what a kit of five nozzles and one electrode makes impossible.

Compatibility is given as five patterns — AG-60, AG-60P, SG-55, WSD-60 and the BTC500DP head — which covers most of the Chinese-pattern air plasma torches sold with inverter cutters, and then undercut by a closing claim to fit “most plasma cutter”. What is not published is the one figure that matters: the amperage band the nozzles are bored for. A 40 A nozzle run at 60 A does not last, and nothing on the page says which these are.

The questions welders ask

Why are nozzles and electrodes supplied in equal numbers?

Because they wear as a pair. In an air plasma torch the electrode erodes a pit at its center and the nozzle bore opens up, and running a new nozzle with a worn electrode destroys the new nozzle quickly — the arc wanders off center and eats the bore. Twenty of each means they can be changed together, which is what the manuals tell you to do and what most people do not, because they only have one of one of them.

What is missing before I can buy with confidence?

The current rating. A plasma nozzle has an orifice sized for an amperage band — a 40 A nozzle run at 60 A burns out, and a 60 A nozzle at 30 A gives a ragged cut. The listing names torch patterns but no amperage for the nozzles, and says nothing about the electrode tip material, where the hafnium insert is what determines how many starts it survives. Check the orifice size against your machine’s manual before committing to fifty of anything.
