Where we come out The complete safety set, on the most powerful machine here. Priced accordingly.
Two hundred and seven euros, 1,900 W, and the only machine on this page with all three safety systems: a brake, anti-restart, and jam detection.
AFT is the one you cannot fit later
Active Feedback sensing Technology watches for the sudden speed drop that means the disc has bound — in a closing kerf, on an edge, in a burr. When a grinder jams, the disc stops and the motor does not, so the whole machine tries to rotate about the disc, and 1,900 W is enough to take it out of a two-handed grip. AFT cuts the motor in a fraction of a second.
It does not undo the jam. It stops the machine from driving through it, which is where the injuries come from.
The other two
Anti-restart, so a switched-on machine does not come alive when the supply returns. A brake, so the disc stops rather than free-spinning for the several seconds that make people set a running tool on a bench.
Makita does not publish a stopping time for the brake — the FLEX below does, at 3.5 seconds, and a published number is worth more than the word « brake ».
Power and control belong together
Nineteen hundred watts in a 125 mm (4.92 in) machine is a lot of torque. That is exactly why the safety electronics matter here more than on the €46 machine at the top of this page: the same jam, four times the energy behind it.
Sources
Power, disc diameter, brake, anti-restart, AFT, speed adjustment, switch type and part number come from the manufacturer’s published specification. No brake stopping time is stated there, and none is invented here. Market availability was verified per market on the EAN.

What it handles, and what it will not
Strengths
All three safety systems: brake, anti-restart and jam detection
1,900 W with variable speed — nothing else here has both at this level
Live on all six markets under one reference
Compromises
€207, four times the cheapest machine on this page
1,900 W in a 125 mm (4.92 in) body is a great deal of torque to control
No brake stopping time is published, unlike the FLEX

The questions welders ask
What does AFT actually detect?
A sudden loss of motor speed — the signature of a disc binding in a cut or catching an edge. When that happens the machine’s reaction torque goes into the operator’s wrists, which is how grinders end up across a workshop or into a leg. Cutting the motor within a fraction of a second does not undo the jam, but it stops the machine driving through it.
Is 1,900 W too much for a 125 mm (4.92 in) disc?
It is more than most people need and exactly what a professional cutting heavy section wants. The consideration is control: a machine with that torque and a jammed disc is genuinely dangerous, which is why this one has jam detection and a brake. Power and safety electronics belong together — a 1,900 W machine without them would be the wrong buy at any price.
