Why the set rather than singles

Because you do not yet know which tungsten diameter suits your work, and each diameter needs its own collet and body. Buying the set means the answer is on the shelf when you find it.

Check the fitment first

WP-26 is common and it is not universal. If your torch is a WP-17, these parts will not fit, and the difference is not adjustable.

The questions welders ask

How do I know which torch I have?

The number is usually printed on the torch body or in the machine’s manual: WP-9 is the small air-cooled torch, WP-17 the medium one, WP-26 the larger. They differ in body diameter and in the collets and cups they take, and the parts are not interchangeable. Ordering a set for the wrong number is the commonest first mistake.

Which parts actually wear out?

The collet and collet body loosen and pit over time; gas nozzles crack and get contaminated; back caps are usually lost rather than worn. Tungsten electrodes are the true consumable and are bought separately. A set like this covers the first three so a Saturday is not lost to a missing €2 part.
