This is the smallest and cheapest way onto this shelf, and it is aimed at the three parts of a TIG torch that actually fail: the back cap you drop, the ceramic cup you crack, and the collet body that gets contaminated. For a WP-17, 18 or 26 torch it is a sensible top-up rather than a seventy-nine-piece investment.

Compatibility is stated properly, which on this shelf matters more than anything. The kit is for the 17 and 26 series air-cooled torches and the 18 series water-cooled, with the Lincoln PTA-17, PTA-18 and PTA-26 and the Miller Diamondback DB17, DB18 and DB26 named as equivalents. None of it fits a WP-9, 20 or 25 torch, and three of the kits on this shelf are for those.

Two things do not hold up. The title says seventeen pieces and the contents bullet adds to fourteen — three back caps, six collet bodies, five cups — with nothing on the page to reconcile the two figures. And there are no collets in the box: the part that actually grips the tungsten is absent, which means you are using the sizes you already own. The claim that the parts “have the lowest burn loss rate” names nothing to be lowest against.

The questions welders ask

How many pieces are in the box?

The listing cannot say. The title and the first line of the description both read 17 pieces; the contents bullet reads "3pcs Back cup, 6pcs collet body, 5pcs Alumina gas cup/ nozzle", which adds to fourteen. Nothing on the page reconciles them. On a shelf where the Alffun 68-piece kit and the RIVERWELD 63-piece kit both itemize down to the part number and arrive at their stated totals, this one is the outlier.

Why does the absence of collets matter?

Because a collet body alone does not hold tungsten. The stack in a TIG torch is a back cap at the rear, a collet gripping the electrode, and a collet body the collet seats into — and a kit of bodies and cups leaves you using the collets you already have, in the sizes you already have. The 68-piece kit from the same brand on this shelf includes twenty collets in three sizes; this one includes none, and does not say so.
