A specification rather than a description

Flow range, inlet pressure and a standard number. Three facts, all comparable, on a page where most listings offer none.

Where it sits

Twice the price of the cheapest here and a third of a decent helmet. On the component that separates a 200 bar cylinder from a torch in your hand, that is not the place to economize.

Every figure above comes from the manufacturer’s published specification for this reference. Fields the listing does not publish are left out rather than estimated. Market availability was verified per market on the EAN.

The questions welders ask

What does EN ISO 2503 cover?

It is the European standard for pressure regulators used with gas cylinders — construction, materials, testing and marking, including behavior under fault conditions. A regulator built and marked to it has been designed against a written specification rather than to a price. On a component holding 200 bar next to your face, that is the reassurance worth paying for.

Is 0–30 l/min useful range?

The bottom half is what you use: 8 to 12 l/min covers most MIG, and TIG with a gas lens is often lower. The upper range exists for large nozzles and drafty conditions. What matters is that the scale is calibrated in l/min at all — a gauge showing only pressure leaves you guessing at flow.
